Cancellation & Refund Policy

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the dashboard at app.flatcompute.com/dashboard/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

What happens when you cancel:

• Your API key(s) remain active until the end of the billing period.
• At the end of the billing period, your API key(s) are revoked and your subscription status changes to "canceled."
• Your usage data and account remain intact. You can re-subscribe at any time if seats are available.
• If your Zone is full when you cancel, your seat becomes available to the next person on the waitlist.

Founding discount: If you cancel and later re-subscribe to the same Zone, your founding discount is not guaranteed to be available again, as founding slots are limited.

Founding seat reservations can be canceled at any time before the Zone is activated, at no cost. Since no payment is charged during the founding phase (only a €0 card validation via Stripe Setup Intent), there is nothing to refund.

If the Zone does not reach its opening threshold:

• Your reservation is automatically canceled after 30 days of inactivity.
• Your card is not charged. No refund is needed because no payment was taken.
• You will receive an email notification: "We didn't reach the goal. Your card was not charged."
• You may optionally keep your reservation for the next founding round.

If you leave the founding queue or do not enter the rollout: You lose your founding benefit (50% off). This is by design — founding benefits are for early supporters who commit to the Zone.

No partial-period refunds: FlatCompute charges a fixed monthly price. If you cancel mid-period, you retain access until the end of the billing period. We do not issue prorated refunds for partial billing periods, as your seat was reserved and unavailable to others for the full period.

14-day right of withdrawal (EU consumer law):

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (transposed in Spain as Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007), consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. However, for digital services where the user has explicitly requested immediate performance (by using the API after subscribing), the right of withdrawal is waived once the service has been used. This means:

• If you subscribe and do not use the API within 14 days of payment, you may request a full refund.
• If you subscribe and do use the API (make at least one inference request), the 14-day right of withdrawal is considered waived and no refund is available for that billing period.

Service-level refunds: If FlatCompute experiences an outage lasting more than 12 consecutive hours within a billing period, affected subscribers may request a credit proportional to the downtime. This is a goodwill credit, not a legal obligation.

Zone discontinuation: If we permanently discontinue a Zone, all affected subscribers receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of their billing period.

To request a refund under the 14-day withdrawal right or for service-level issues, email billing@flatcompute.com with:

• Your account email.
• The subscription or reservation ID (visible in the dashboard).
• The reason for the request.
• The date of your last API usage (if applicable).

We process refund requests within 7 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe.

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at billing@flatcompute.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We will make every effort to resolve the issue directly.

Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in account suspension while the dispute is resolved.
